During the congress a flight to test of the communications system to be used over the on the Gorringe’s mission took place on the morning of the 15th. UAVision submitted to ANAC, National Civil Aviation Authority, a flight plan with the request for airspace reservation. This request was granted in record time, and the flight was held with a Wingo-S, an electric engine UAV.
This was a line of sight flight, over the sea, below 100 meters, in an area adjacent to the northern coast of the Peniche Peninsula. It took-off from a catapult on the cliff and landed on an access street to the Escola Superior de Turismo e Tecnologia do Mar. During the flight, the effectiveness of the communications system over the sea was confirmed in a real situation. A success.
